Style of The Minute: Mixing Prints

Leopard print with zebra print? Houndstooth with graphic? You're all thinking, whatever are you talking about, Sarah?

When you're in fashion, it's a constant go to show off difficult and unheard of styles. That is why we love this industry! One trend that I am really enjoying (and in some cases wishing I didn't see) is mixing prints. From Chanel to Dolce and Gabbana, Balmain to Alexander Wang, this trend has taken over the runways and now, the streets to. After looking at tons of editorials and video clips, I have gathered up my favourite examples of the Mixed Print trends out and about.

There are general rules to making sure you don't look like a tad out of place when you try this out. Don't be intimidated by it's outcome, it takes time and practise for us all, but when you do get it, then by all means the street is your runway.
If I could give you one bit of advice, it would be to keep to a colour scheme. You could have a graphic print crop of a farm landscape and polka-dot palazzo pants as long as your colour choices work. Maybe go for all black and whit, all cold tones or a gradual change from black and white to colour like the above model. You can go crazy with the prints, maybe not so much the colours. Trust me.
